L’Oreal Professionel Absolut Repair Shampoo & Conditioner

If like me you have dry and damaged hair from years of colouring, blow drying, straightening or curling then you need to carry on reading – this review is for you!

There aren’t many products that I have used for years and years, as I tend to always find a better product and then use that. Well that is apart from L’Oreal Professionel Absolut Repair Shampoo & Conditioner which I have been using for about 8 years now.

L'Oreal Professionel Absolut Repair Shampoo & Conditioner review

I was first recommended it by a hairdresser – yes I know, they always try to sell you products as they earn commission, but back then I found it hard to say no…So I found myself walking out of the hairdressers really disappointed that I had let myself be pushed into buying them!

Well the disappointment didn’t last long when I realised how amazing these products are!

The Absolut range is made for very dry and damaged hair and were originally produced just to be sold by the professional hair salons – hence the name. From the moment you put the product on your hair and then rinse it out you can notice a huge difference. My hair is smoother, silkier and feels so light – in fact it felt so light the first time I used it, I felt like I had just had my hair cut!

The shampoo lathers up really well so you get that squeaky clean feeling. The conditioner has the same scent as the shampoo which is lovely and a little goes a long way.

Once I blow dried my hair I also noticed that there was less frizz and it looked a lot shiner.

I have a friend who has very very thin hair who tried it and she found that it weighed her hair down. However I also have very fine and thin hair and I don’t find it an issue at all – in fact the very opposite.

Both products are so good that I even noticed a difference in the smoothness of my hair if I use just one of them and mix it with a different shampoo or conditioner. Although you do definitely get the best experience when you use them together,

Now for the only downside… the cost. When I first started buying the products they were about £14 each! yes, ouch! However prices have come down and with the wonders of the internet you can now buy a 250ml shampoo for about £8.00 and a 150ml conditioner for about £9.00.

I alternate using this shampoo with my other favourite (that is a must for blonde hair) – A Touch Of Silver, which I have wrote a review of here. On the days I use L’Oreal Absolut Repair I can really notice a difference in the condition of it.

TIP: Once you have tried the product and worked out that you like it, purchase the salon size bottles as they work out so much cheaper. You can buy the 1500ml shampoo for £15.99 and the 750ml conditioner for £12.99 online. I only end up buying them twice a year so it actually works out cheaper than regular hair care products!

If you try it I would love to hear what you think!
