NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Review

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Review, beauty blog

I’m pretty lucky that I have got into my 30’s without needing a concealer. For years now I have used MAC’s Studio Fix foundation and as its got such good coverage I haven’t really felt the need for a concealer. However recently I have had a few spots come up and the dark circles are beginning to appear under my eyes (It’s freaking me out that I am getting signs of ageing!), so I thought I best invest in a good concealer.

I wasn’t really sure what product to buy. I am a massive MAC fan and they are my go to products, but I fancied a change and thought about branching out to another brand. I did my research, read up on a few blogs, and the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer seemed to come up top. I have never used a NARS product before so I was quite excited to try something different. As I’m extremely pale I purchased the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly which is their palest shade.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Review

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for spots

The concealer is really thick and creamy so I found it great at covering spots. I don’t have acne, but I do get the annoying spots which tend to be very red and found this concealer great for reducing the redness and generally covering it up. Its also non-oily so great for those that do suffer with spots or acne as it wont aggravate them and make them worse.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for dark under eye circles

This was the main reason I bought the concealer but unfortunately I found it a real let down. I dabbed the concealer along the dark circles – you don’t need much as a little goes a long way, and blended using my Beauty Blender (if you haven’t got one of these you need it in your life!). At first I was super excited as the product was so illuminating and it really hid my dark circles while brightening up my eyes. However, within minutes the concealer had sunken in to my skin and all these nasty wrinkles appeared! Wrinkles I never knew I had! Within hours I looked haggered. Every tiny crease and wrinkle was being highlighted, not covered up. As I say I’m in my 30’s so this may not be the case with youngsters in their 20’s, but if you look at my Instagram page you will see that I don’t have loads of wrinkles (well I don’t think so anyway!), but this product really highlighted any that I did have.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for highlighting

Ok, so far, It’s been good at covering spots, awful for under eyes, but I must say it was brilliant for highlighting. The product is most famous for its light reflective pigments and brightening effects, and as I purchased the lightest shade possible it was great for highlighting key areas like the bridge of my nose, forehead and chin. Again I used the Beauty Blender to blend the product and stayed away from any areas that have a hint of a wrinkle! I’ve really got into contouring lately so I was really pleased that this helped highlight as a contrast to shading with bronzer.

Overall I would say I was pleased with it, but I still need to find a concealer that will cover my dark circles and not stick to my wrinkles – any ideas?
