It seems crazy that with all the MAC products I buy that I have never done a MAC haul! So here we go…. I went to Brighton at the weekend just to go and buy some MAC products, but after an hour and a half drive I get there and am told they have sold out of the two products I wanted! Typical! But while I was there I picked up a few other essentials (yes Mum, they are essentials!). This is only a mini haul, but I will try and do some others with more products as and when I buy them….
MAC Blot Powder
I wear MAC Studio Fix foundation religiously every day and usually use the MAC pressed powder or MAC Studio Fix Powder on top to set it. Recently though, they seem to have created that caked on look and been settling into my wrinkles, so by the end of the day I’m looking my age! I asked the MAC assistant what she would recommend and she suggested the Blot Powder as its very fine and lightweight. I’ve only used this for a few days and I must say it is a definite improvement on the previous powders. I think I need to use it for a few weeks before I have a real opinion, but so far, so good.
MAC Modesty Lipstick
Since the Kylie Jenner phenomenon and her envious lips, the sale of nude lipstick and lip liners at MAC have gone through through the roof. I am probably partially responsible for this as I own so many of them! I find nude shades work really well on me as I’m so fair and they do make my lips look fuller. I was originally going to purchase Creme Cup, but when I tried it on it looked awful on me – it was far too pale and showed up every inch of dry skin on my lips. The MAC assistant suggested I try Modesty instead as it’s a darker pinky/nude, and I must say I like it. I will no doubt post some photos up on my Instagram if you want to see what it looks like on.
MAC Paradisco Eye Shadow
Orange shades really work with my blue eyes and make them pop so this shade is perfect for just that. It’s a frosted eye shadow, so has a shimmer and is great for using on the lid. I team it with Coppering which is a lot darker and more intense, but the two go really well together.
MAC What A Blast Pro Longwear Lip Liner
I have already purchased this lip liner before but lost it on a night out (insert sad emoji here) – when will I learn!? I use this lip liner with MAC’s Korean Candy lipstick, which is a gorgeous bright orangey/ red shade. Together they have the Wow factor so I tend to keep them for nights out. I love the Pro Longwear lip liners as they glide on so smoothly and really have staying power. Once I’ve applied it, it will stay on for the rest of the night (another reason I didn’t need to take it out with me!).
