From top to bottom; MAC’s Subculture, Spice, Fruit Cocktail & Ruby Woo lip liners

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you’ve probably been spammed with my holiday photos of Dubai recently – so, sorry about that! Dubai is known as a shoppers paradise, and although it wasn’t necessarily any cheaper than the UK I took advantage of having my credit card on me and had a bit of a spend up in Dubai Mall – and surprise, surprise, it features a lot of MAC!

MAC Ruby Woo Lip Liner

I bought MAC’s Ruby Woo lip liner to go with MAC’s Limited Edition Petite Red lipstick. I didn’t have the lipstick with me at the time, so it was a bit of a guess and I kept my fingers crossed hoping it would match. But it does – perfectly. There is just something about having red lippy on that makes you feel great and these two combos are now my must haves!

MAC Mineralize Soft & Gentle Highlighter

I had heard this product mentioned so much in the blogging world and now I can see why. I don’t think you really know what a highlighter can do for you until you have tried MAC’s Soft & Gentle! MAC offer a range of mineralize highlighters and each have a slightly different shade – be it pinkie, brown, or more opaque. Soft & Gentle is golden bronze to look at, and creates a warm highlight to your face. Its perfect for applying to cheek bones, down the centre of the nose, cupids bow and chin. I just love it, and if you are a Kim K contouring fan, so will you!

Sephora Desert Dune Eye Shadow

This is a beautiful gold eye shadow that has lots of shimmer and glitter pigments in it. I haven’t tried a Sephora product before so that probably appealed to me more than the shade itself, as I have a lot of gold coloured eye shadows! So far I’m pleased with it, but I think I will have to try a few more of their eye shadows before I can really cast my vote.

Marc Jacobs So Sofia Lipstick

Although I have a few Marc Jacobs items (I love his handbags!) I never knew he did make up as well. So when I purchased this lipstick I had no idea what the quality would be like. So Sofia is a mixture of a fuchsia pink and a bright red. It’s not  meant to be a matte texture but I found it quite dry, so it felt like a matte lipstick on the lips. I was pleased with the colour but I must say it doesn’t live up to the MAC quality that I’m used to in terms of staying power and consistency.

MAC 24 Hour Extend Eye Base

I had never thought of using an eye primer before, and to honest I didn’t buy this product to keep my eye make up last any longer…. I have actually bought this as I heard that eye primer (if used while its still wet) will make eye shadow more intense. Although I haven’t got any other eye primers to compare this against I must say it definitely does make my eye shadow more pigmented and vivid. Another staple to add to the make up bag.

MAC Subculture Lip Liner

I wear MAC nude lipsticks all the time and my go to lip liner that goes with all of them is Boldy Bare. I’ve been wearing it for ages and love it, but I always like to try something new so thought I would give Subculture a go. After trying it I can say that Bold Bare is still my favourite as I find Subculture just that little bit too pale for me.

MAC Spice Lip Liner

Yet another nude lip liner, but this time darker with more brown tones. I prefer this one to Subculture but it will only go with my darker nude lipsticks like Modesty and Brave. Still, a good purchase I think!

Inglot 127 Lipstick

I hadn’t really heard of Inglot before I went to Dubai… I might have seen the odd product in my Twitter news feed but that’s about it, and certainly hadn’t entertained buying any. There was a Inglot boutique store in Dubai Mall and what caught my eye as I walked past was the huge display of lipsticks. Imagine MAC’s lipstick stand and times it by five! There were so many to choose from that I really didn’t know where to start, so I opted for my make up bag staple.. The bright red. This is a bright pillar box red shade with a creme sheen texture. It goes on well and blends easily with my lip liner. I wouldn’t say it lasts quite a s long as the MAC lipsticks, but it isn’t far off. I definitely want to try some more Inglot products now.

MAC Fruit Cocktail Lip Liner

I’m not really sure why I bought the Fruit Cocktail lip liner, as by this point I had already purchased three other MAC lip liners, but it’s such a pretty coral colour that I couldn’t resist. I’ve tried using it with MAC Pure Zen lipstick and it goes well but I think I need another brighter shade that is more of a coral colour. Well you know what that means… another trip to MAC 🙂
