My finished makeup (with a filter of course!) |
We’ve all dreamed of living the celebrity lifestyle including private jets, a chef and personal trainer, however I’ve always thought the luxury I would like to have is my own makeup artist every day…. A few weeks ago I lived this dream… (well for one day only) and I had my makeup professionally done by Bebe Newson at the MAC store in Brighton.
If any of you follow me on Instagram you will know I’m a MAC Cosmetics addict, literally an addict and regularly buy their products. Well, for just £30 you can have a MAC makeover where your makeup is applied by a professional MAC makeup artist – you then get £30 deducted from any products you buy – so basically its free! Brilliant!
I’ve had a MAC makeover on quite a few occasions, but this time I went with my best friend who had never experienced it. We did some shopping, got our makeup done then went for some dinner and drinks. Perfect girly time together – like an episode of Sex & The City!

Half way there….. |
I took in a photo of what I wanted my makeup to look like – Instagram comes in handy to have a stalk at the beautiful girls you want to look like! I tend to wear quite heavy makeup, so to keep with that theme I wanted dark smokey eyes (with the flick), bright red lips and strong contouring. As always, I’m a bit of a fussy cow and I told Bebe that I didn’t want her to use any products that I already have as I wanted to try new ones… So bless her she had her work cut out as my MAC collection is a fair size now!
Bebe was not only fantastic at applying the makeup but also at explaining what products she was using and why they were better suited to me than other products, so I totally recommend using her if you live near Brighton – I have linked to her Instagram at the top of this post so go check her out.
I was totally thrilled with the look Bebe had created, and she finished it off nicely with some dramatic false eyelashes. Bebe wrote down all the products she had used one me, but unfortunately I couldn’t afford it all so I opted for:
- MAC studio finish concealer in NW45 (for contouring)
- MAC M-A-C-nificent me! 9 colour eye shadow palette
- MAC Cockney lipstick
- MAC 1 lash false eyelashes
I totally love the ‘Cockney’ lipstick as it has such a glossy finish to it. My friend couldn’t believe I wasn’t wearing lip gloss – yet it stayed on for ages! Since this makeover I’ve now been converted to contouring using cream, rather just powder as it gives such a natural look but is so much easier to blend, so I recommend trying that if you are a fan of contouring like me.

The finished look…. no filter!!! |
I love the MAC mirrors and lighting….. perfect excuse for a selfie 🙂 |
I loved having this done and totally recommend it if you are a MAC virgin and want to try their products or you want some girly time with your friends. They will literally recreate any look, so don’t be afraid to tell them what you like and taking in any photos always helps.

P.s Big shout out to my amazing friend Mads for being my photographer while my makeup was being done – she of course, loved it! 😉
