5 Products for Sensitive Skin

5 skincare products for sensitive skin, toner, cleanser, moisturiser, exfoliator

As a Beauty Blogger I’m in a fortunate position to trial many different skincare products which is a blessing, but also a curse at the same time. I love being able to discover new brands and products which help my skin issues but as someone with very sensitive skin it can also be a tough journey as my skin reacts so easily…… One thing I’ve learnt with sensitive skin is that the price tag means nothing…. Some of the most expensive high end products have left me with severe reactions. My skin irritations can vary from redness to tightness, stinging and breakouts – the redness has been so severe at times I’ve wondered if I have a form of rosacea.

When I find products that don’t irritate my skin and help alleviate some of my skin concerns (oily, dehydrated with large pores) then it makes me very happy indeed. So I want to share with you 5 skincare products that I’m loving for my sensitive skin.

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil for sensitive skin

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil

Like I say I have oily skin, so initially the thought of cleansing my face with oil was not something I had ever considered, but this oil cleanser from the Body Shop has been a game changer for me! I’ve lost count of the amount of times I have recommended The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil as it is now firmly in my list if favourites. Camomile is known for its calming benefits and this cleansing oil does not irritate my skin at all and I feel reduces my redness when I use it. My skin is left feeling soft, clean and it’s so easy to remove with no nasty residue left behind. One of my favourite cleansers and all for £12 – See… skincare doesn’t have to cost a fortune!

Skinetica Toner for sensitive skin

Skinetica Toner

I received a bottle of Skinetica in a Blogger goodie bag years ago and since then I have continually repurchased as I love it so much. Skinetica is a toner meant for people with acne. Now I don’t suffer with acne but I do get spots (yes, even at my age!), and I find that using this toner really helps reduce the amount I get. As soon as I stop using it I notice the breakouts start to happen again. Some toners and spot treatments can be quite harsh but I have absolutely no issue in using Skineta and it doesn’t aggravate my skin at all. Skinetica only costs £10 but unfortunately I go through a bottle a month so it is quite pricey considering the amount you get. Saying that it’s worth every penny so it will stay put my shopping list.

Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Moisturiser for sensitive skin

Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Moisturiser

Moisturisers for me are probably the most common product to irritate my skin so I’m always wary about trying new ones and make sure I do a lot of research on them first. I have previously purchased the Antipodes Divine Face Oil and Kiwi Eye Cream and loved them so much with no irritation that I was eager to try one of their moisturisers.  Like I say, I have dehydrated skin so a hydrating moisurister is just what I need! The Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Moisturiser is a fairly thick cream which leaves my skin soft, hydrated and not at all irritated.

In the UK Antipodes Vanilla Pod Mosituriser can be purchased on Beauty Bay, Feel Unique and ASOS and is certified as Vegetarian but the UK Vegetarian Society.

Antipodes Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator for sensitive skin

Antipodes Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator

For a product that is meant to scrub away dead skin this exfoliator is super gentle on the skin as it uses jojoba beads for its exfoliation action – no harmful micro-beads in here. Apart from the Dermalogica Microfoliant (which I also love) I haven’t tried a product this easy on the skin.

The Antipodes Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator is formulated with 100% pure natural avocado oil, the important antioxidant vitamin E as well as vita mains A, B C and essential fatty acids to help nourish and protect the skin.

As a validated organic skincare company Antipodes are known for being brilliant at supporting sensitive skin issues and this exfolitor is no exception. My skin is left feeling soft, refreshed and not at all irritated.

Aromatherapy Associates Rose Exfoliating Cleanser for sensitive skin

Aromatherapy Associates Rose Exfoliating Cleanser

You may be thinking “another cleanser on the list….” but when the cleanser is this good I couldn’t not include it. I tend to do a first cleanse with The Body Shop Camomile oil and a second cleanse with the Aromatherapy Associates Rose Exfoliating Cleanser, as with the amount of makeup I wear I need two cleanses!

The Aromatherapy Associates Rose Exfoliating Cleanser is lovely to apply as its so soft even with the tiny micro beads that are included to exfoliate the skin. There aren’t many of them so it’s not at all abrasive. As with The Body Shop cleanser its easy to remove (which is a big thing for me) and my skin is left feeling soft and radiant afterwards.

Although on the Aromatherapy Associates website it says that it is not suitable for “extremely sensitive skin” my skin doesn’t react at all to it even though I think my skin is pretty sensitive, but I wanted to make you aware of that in case you think you may be on that end of the spectrum…. I don’t want any law suits coming my way!!
