September Favourites

September 2017 beauty and makeup favourites

Hey everyone!

Another month has past, the leaves have changed colour and everyone on Twitter has been harping on about being excited for autumn. Yep, we have come to the end of September and you can probably tell I’m not very happy about it. I have a strong dislike for the colder months and I hate it getting closer to Christmas, so autumn does not excite me one little bit. Anyway, enough of my scrooge like moans, let’s get onto what beauty and makeup picks I’ve been loving this month…..

Crabtree & Evelyn Citron & Coriander Body Lotion

Crabtree & Evelyn Citron & Coriander Body Lotion

I always use body lotions after the shower to keep my skin hydrated so I get through bottles pretty quickly. I’ve loved using this Crabtree & Evelyn Citron & Coriander Body Lotion as it keeps my skin hydrated all day and isn’t too thick, so soaks in quickly. Very important when you’re in a hurry and need to get dressed in the morning! It smells gorgeous. The citrus lemon scent is uplifting and refreshing. The Coriander isn’t at all overpowering so don’t let that put you off if you don’t like the smell of coriander.

As with all Crabtree & Evelyn products the packaging is super chic so you’ll be proud to display this in your bathroom. The Crabtree & Evelyn Citron & Coriander Body Lotion costs £19.00 and can be purchased here.

Pixi + ITSJUDYTIME Get The Look It’s Eye Time Eyeshadow Palette

Yes, I’ve done the very unblogger thing and started using this palette before I photographed it! Naughty me, but I was just too excited!

The Pixi Get The Look Eye Palette (I’m going to shorten it as the full name is just such a mouthful) is my first step into Pixi eyeshadows and I’ve been very impressed.

The palette consists of 12 shades in a mixture of matte and shimmer finishes. They are pigmented and blend well. My only complaint was that I wish it had a pale (almost white) matte shade that I could use across the whole lid, but other than that the shades all compliment each other well.

This month I’ve been wearing this palette a lot and then packing on the highlight with my finger from the Pixi Strobe & Bronze Glow palette, which I’ve been loving the look of.

The Pixi Get The Look It’s Eye Time palette costs £28.00 and can be purchased here.

Beauty Blender Keep.It.Clean

Beauty Blender Keep.It.Clean

How have I been using a Beauty Blender for years and not used this product!? We all know I love a Beauty Blender as I’ve talked about them on multiple occasions on my blog, but it’s important to wash them after every use to ensure they work effectively. The Beauty Blender Keep.It.Clean is a pink silicon cleansing mitt that you hold in your hand and rub your brushes or Beauty Blenders against it to help give them a deep clean.

Always a sceptic I wasn’t sure about this, but once again Beauty Blender have proved me wrong and it’s fantastic! It really does help lather up the brush/ blender and make the cleansing process a whole lot easier.

The Beauty Blender Keep.It.Clean also comes with a solid BlenderCleanser and a small sachet of the liquid BlenderCleanser too, which if you haven’t tried you must!

The Beauty Blender Keep.It.Clean costs £16.00 and can be purchased here.

Sienna X Q10 Bronzing Mousse

Sienna X Q10 Bronzing Mousse

Ever since I had my first Sienna X spray tan about 5 years ago I won’t have any other brand of spray tan – it’s incredible. So when I found out that Sienna X offer a mousse formula that you can use at home I was super excited!

The Sienna X Q10 Bronzing Mousse provides a deep long lasting tan which I’ve loved using this month. To me it smells like the old fashioned fruit salad sweets – not sure if they still make these but if you’re around my age you will remember them! But don’t worry it only smells like this when you are applying it and not once you’ve washed it off!

Unlike most mousses which come in a standard pump bottle the Q10 Bronzing mousse comes in an aerosol container which is designed to keep the tan fresh for longer.

It has a good guide colour when applying to help you not miss any patches which is always important for me.

It dried down fairly quickly, not the quickest I’ve used but quick enough and produces a lovely dark tan that fades well.

The Sienna X Q10 Bronzing Mousse costs £22.97 and can be purchased here.

Pixi + Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse

Pixi + Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse

I know, I know, I’m totally late to the game on this one. Everyone has been raving about this product since it launched in January this year and I’ve only just tried it! Now I can see why!

Not sure if I’m odd with this, but I’ve always double cleansed. I wear a lot of makeup so I have to do one cleanse first to remove the majority of makeup, and then a second cleanse to really clean deep into the pores, and this is exactly the theory behind the Pixi + Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse.

First you use the harder balm like cleanser that turns into an oil as your first step. The oil is brilliant at breaking down and removing makeup. Followed by stage two which is a cream cleanser. It feels incredibly soft to touch and is very hydrating.

As you can see from these photos I’ve already used a fair amount of the product and as I knew I had to include it in this month’s post I had to stop myself using anymore so I actually had something to photograph! I love this cleanser and I’m so pleased I can now go back to using it! This is definitely an item that I will repurchase although I have a feeling I’m going to get through it pretty quickly.

The Pixi + Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse costs £24 and can be purchased here.

Roger & Gallet Bienfaits Shower Gel & Body Lotion

Roger & Gallet Bienfaits Shower Gel & Body Lotion

I had never heard of this brand until it landed on my doorstep as a surprise package. Eager to give new products a go I started using them both immediately and I’ve loved them!

As you guys all know I am a huge Jo Malone addict and the Roger & Gallet Bienfaits collection is an great dupe for Jo Malone ‘Grapefruit’ with a beautiful citrus fragrance, but with a much cheaper price tag you’ll be pleased to hear.

The Roger & Gallet Bienfaits Shower Gel lathers up with nicely with a shower puff and has added aloe vera to help moisturise and sooth the skin.

I’m loving using The Roger & Gallet Bienfaits Body Lotion after my shower. The consistently is seriously soft, light and soaks in quickly which as I said above is a must for me as I don’t have lots of time to wait for lotions to soak in before I get dressed.

The Roger & Gallet Bienfaits collection can be purchased here.
