Bondi Sands 1 Hour Express Tan Review

Bondi Sands 1 hour express tan review

I know, I know. Another fake tan review…. But I’m thinking that if you guys spend as much dollar on fake tan as I do, then you’re going to want to know what to buy and what to pass on. So as a self certified fake tan expert I think you’ll want to her my views on every new fake tan I try out, so they ain’t stopping any time soon I’m afraid…..

Which is why today I’m writing about the new Bondi Sands 1 Hour Express Tan that I’ve been trying out.

The Bondi Sands 1 Hour Express Tan is a mousse formula that is meant to give you the sun kissed look within 1 hour. On the can it says you can leave it on for 30 minutes for a light/ medium tan, 1 hour for a dark tan, or 2-3 hours for the darkest tan.

1 hour tans aren’t a new invention, I’ve been using them for a few years now and they are great when you’re in a rush – i.e were too tired to fake tan the night before, so you have no choice but to tan on the day you need to be a bronzed goddess. Sometimes I actually prefer doing it this way as then it means I’m not getting my beautiful white bed sheets all orange by sleeping in it.

Right, on to the nitty gritty…. The Bondi Sands 1 Hour Express Tan when applied has good guide colour – this is imperative for me as I need to be able to see any patches I’ve missed and if the tan isn’t dark enough then I can easily miss some.

The tan is easy to blend with a mitt – I always advise using one, and has a gorgeous coconut scent to it which reminds me of holidays – Get me to a beach now!! It dries fairly quickly and doesn’t leave a sticky residue. Big thumbs up!

The colour that devops is very natural looking, with not a hint of orange tango in site. However when it comes to tanning you in an hour then that’s where I’ve got to disagree….. After 1 hour there is just a tiny tiny hint of a tan – definitely not a dark tan as promised. As you can see from the photo above after 4.5 hours (which is meant to give me the darkest tan) I’m still nowhere near as brown as I would be with other fake tans that I use. It’s a lovely colour but not as dark as I like to go.

As I say the colour is very natural looking – it’s more grey toned than orange and it fades evenly (as long as you’ve exfoliated, obvs) but it certainly isn’t an express tan in my opinion……

If you’re looking for a fake tan that is subtle then I’m sure you will love this tan, but we all know subtle isn’t a word made for me 😉
