If you read my recent review of the Spectrum Dinglehopper brush set you’ll know that they weren’t for me. It was no reflection on the quality of the brushes, but just that I prefer the traditional makeup brush over the oval type.
The lovely gals at Spectrum read my review so offered for me to try a different set of The Little Mermaid collection – but this time the fluffy style. I opted for the Spectrum Ariel brush set as like I said before, I always wanted to be Ariel growing up so I couldn’t resist.
The Spectrum Collections Ariel makeup brush set comes beautifully presented in a clam shell shaped bag with Ariel on the front and a detachable metal and faux pearl strap. Although the case is designed to keep the brushes in you could totally use as an actual handbag as you can fit a fair bit in it, and how cool would that look!?
All of the brushes have a metallic bluey turquoise handle with pink bristles blending into a red tip, to match Ariel’s tail and red hair. I just love the detail that has been thought of when it comes to these brushes.
The Ariel brush set consists of 10 brushes that can be used for the face and eyes:
B01 – Flat top foundation buffer brush
A01 – Large fluffy powder brush
A04 – Tapered setting brush
A10 – Small fan highlighter brush
B05 – Small fluffy blender brush
B06 – Tall eyeshadow blending brush
B04 – Small angled blender brush
A18 – Concealer brush
A12 – Small fluffy Pencil brush
A17 – Angled brow plus spooly
I’m loving the introduction of the spooly on the end of their angled brow brush – this is now my go to brush to fill my eyebrows in with – even though I’ve had them nano bladed they’ve faded so much that I’m back to using powder every day again!
The A04 brush is a lot lighter and smaller than other fan brushes I have which makes it better at getting into smaller places like just below the brows, and as it’s not as compact it picks up less product meaning you don’t get that awful streak across your cheek that can sometimes happen.
As always I love the B06 for blending eyeshadow. It will always be my number 1, as blending as my thang…..
I’ve been using Spectrum brushes for years and I have quite a few of their collections. I love every single one of them but I must say these some of these feel even softer than the others. The makeup brushes are of excellent quality and look super duper pretty too.
All of Spectrum’s products are vegan friendly, so not only are the brushes suitable for vegans but so is the Ariel case!
You can buy the Spectrum Ariel makeup brush set here for £79.99 which includes the gorgeous Ariel bag too (which is a bargain if you ask me). If you’re looking for a brush set that not only works brilliantly but has the wow factor then these are for you!
As with the Dinglehopper brushes 1% of the revenue of this product will go towards cleaning up plastics in the ocean.
